We understand it can be frustrating when a purchase with your Bit2Me Card is declined. Generally, this happens for specific reasons that you can easily resolve. In this article, we will guide you through the most common reasons and how you can check them.
Possible reasons for your purchase being declined
Below is a list of the most common reasons why a transaction may be denied. We recommend reviewing these points to identify the problem.
1. Checks related to your account and Bit2Me Card
These are the most immediate checks you can perform yourself from the app.
Wallet not linked: Your Bit2Me Card must be linked to one of the supported wallets to use its funds. If you have not selected a wallet, all purchases will be declined.
Insufficient funds: Once linked, verify that the balance in the wallet associated with your Bit2Me Card is sufficient to cover the total amount of the purchase.
The card is "disabled": For security, you can temporarily turn off your Bit2Me Card. Make sure your Bit2Me Card is enabled.
Card limits: Check if you have reached your daily or monthly spending limits.
Incorrect data in online purchases: If the purchase is online, confirm that you have correctly entered the card number, the expiration date, and the CVC code.
2. External or merchant-related reasons
Sometimes, the problem is not related to your account, but to the payment terminal or the merchant itself.
Failure in the payment terminal (POS): The merchant's device may experience a momentary connection error, causing the transaction to be declined. In these cases, trying again usually solves the problem.
Restricted merchant category: For security and regulatory reasons, transactions at certain types of merchants (e.g., some gambling sites) may be restricted.
3. Security blocks
The security of your funds is our highest priority.
Preventive security block: If our system detects unusual or potentially fraudulent activity, it may block your card preventively to protect you. If you suspect this may be the reason, you should contact our Support team.
Authentication error (3D Secure): For online purchases, additional authentication may be required in your Bit2Me app. If this step fails or is not completed in time, the purchase will be declined.
How can I see my declined purchases?
You can check the history of all your transactions, including declined ones, directly in the application. Follow these steps:
Open the Bit2Me app and go to the Card section.
Next to the Movements option, you will see a dropdown filter that defaults to "All". Tap it and select Cancelled.
In this section, you will see all operations that were not completed. Those that were specifically denied for any of the reasons above will appear with the status "Not authorized".
Important: If after checking all these points you are still unable to make purchases, please do not hesitate to contact our Support team so we can assist you personally. |
