The security PIN is a 6-digit code that protects your Bit2Me account. For security reasons, your session will automatically close after 5 minutes of inactivity, and you'll be prompted to enter your PIN to continue. Additionally, the PIN is unique and shared between the app and the web: once created on either platform, it syncs automatically. Below, we'll explain how to create it for the first time, how to renew it, and what to do if you forget it.
- 1. Create the PIN for the first time
- From the web or mobile app
- 2. Renew the PIN
- From the web or mobile app
- 3. I forgot my PIN
- 4. My fingerprint no longer works in the app
1. Create the PIN for the first time
If you don't have a PIN set up yet, Bit2Me will automatically show you a "Security Update" screen when you log in. Follow the steps appropriate for your device.

From the web or mobile app
When you access your account, the message "Security Update" will appear, indicating that you need to create a PIN. Tap "Configure PIN" to open the Access Key panel.
- In the field Create your PIN, enter a 6-digit code.
- Tap "Continue".
- On the screen Confirm your PIN, repeat the same code in the field Repeat PIN.
- Tap "Continue" to save the PIN and go to the home screen.

2. Renew the PIN
If you already have a PIN set up and wish to change it, you can do so from your account settings. The process is the same for both the web and mobile app.
From the web or mobile app
- Access your profile and go to "Profile and settings".
- In the "Security" section, tap on "Security PIN".

- A notification will appear: "You are about to create a new PIN. Your session will be closed, and you will return to the login screen; once you log in, you will create the new PIN." Tap "Continue".

- Your session will automatically close. When you log in again, follow the steps in the section Create the PIN for the first time.
3. I forgot my PIN
If you don't remember your PIN when the app or website requests it, you can reset it by logging out and creating a new one. The process is the same for both the web and mobile app:
- On the PIN entry screen, tap the option to log out and create a new PIN.
- Your session will close, and you will be redirected to the login screen.
- Log in with your username and password. If you have 2FA enabled, also enter the code.
- Follow the PIN creation flow detailed in the section Create the PIN for the first time.
4. My fingerprint no longer works in the app
If you accessed Bit2Me from the web and created a PIN different from the one you had configured in the app, biometric access (fingerprint) might stop working. This happens because the app and the web share the same PIN in the system, and by updating it from the web, the previous PIN is invalidated.
To fix this, manually enter the same PIN you recently created on the web into the app. Once verified, biometric access will resume normal functionality.
